I am the one who calls for battle
and leads the spear forward in the chariot.
I am the eye and arm of Ra.
So you know me and that’s why you fear me
as disastrous and threatening.
But do you know I’m also the one
that heals your wounds and protects your houses?
Do you know that I am a lover and a beloved?
I’m not just the storm.
I am also the calm afterwards.
I have the courage to start over.
I am the one who fights when need be –
and not when I want to.
I am Sachmet, Daughter of Ra,
Keeper of Peace…
…and therefore Mistress of the Fight.
